Enlighten Designs were approached in late 2005 by Gary Callaghan, Executive Director of Dominion Group. Dominion Group is a collective name uniting five distinct businesses operating under the Dominion brand. The companies include:

Dominion Group has six offices in Fiji, Tonga and Vanuatu and a total staff of more than 50 staff.

At the time Enlighten Designs was approached, the existing Dominion brand was very well recognized in the Pacific Islands and competed with seven major national and international competitors in their servicing areas. Gary Callaghan felt that their old identity was out-dated and they needed something more modern and professional with a "local" feel. Enlighten Designs was required for a re-brand solution supporting print collateral and website development.


The Solution

The concept of Dominion Group identity development was strongly based on its unique Pacific culture, so the identity design was expressed in the form of patterns. Dominion Group required a unified design that could be employed for all Dominion companies. In this sense, word tags would be interchangeable with "insurance", "finance" or "properties".

The logo was designed to be usable and suitable for a wide variety of formats and marketing materials. Visual Identity guidelines were also developed to ensure that the Dominion Group identity was applied and promoted in a formalised, professional and uniform manner across all divisions of the organisation. A full set of stationeries including business cards, letterheads, compliment slips, and client gift wrapping paper were designed to enhance their corporate image.

Websites were developed for each of Dominion Group's various divisions and the Vadmin 3.0 Content Management System was used to allow Dominion staff to completely maintain their websites in-house.


The Result

The result is a smart and local corporate image of a large international company throughout all print collateral and websites of the various business divisions. Dominion Group’s visual identity is uniform across each of their divisions and in keeping with the visual identity guidelines. The consistent presentation of their brand will allow Dominion Group to better market their organisation and now their new logo can be easily applied to further branded materials such as caps, shirts, and banners.
