Enlightens supports Secondary School-Employer Partnership program

23 May 2017

Enlighten Designs is proud to support Smart Waikato’s Secondary School-Employer Partnerships (SSEP).

Running in 12 Waikato schools in 2017, including Hamilton Boys’ High School, the goal of SSEP is to empower youth through education to employment pathways and improve student retention, achievement and education-to-employment transitions, beginning with Year 9 and 10 students and progressing to senior students.

SSEPs see employer groups from priority sectors linking into school faculties to support contextualised learning for students.

Smart Waikato tripled the number of SSEPs in the region in 2017 and envisages at least another 10 schools in 2018.

Watch the SSEP video, featuring our very own Kristy Toroa, on how we are helping show 117 Year 10 ICT students the possibilities of careers in IT.
