Keep your business secure while still embracing the online office life

01 April 2020

Video conferencing cloud platform Zoom recently hit the headlines – and not in a good way.

Whilst the report from cyber-security research company Check Point Research said they found security flaws in the videoconferencing platform, they also noted it was a case of finding a loophole that allows outsiders to join meetings rather than targeted connections to a specific users. In other words, luck and randomly-generated ID numbers let them in accidentally.

But still - as a business you want to feel secure in the knowledge that someone out there playing “Conference Roulette” can’t randomly join in and collect your potentially sensitive business information.

If you have Office 365, chances are good you already have access to Microsoft Teams - one of the most secure video conferencing/online meeting products on the market.

Microsoft Teams offers the ability to collaborate with anyone, anywhere whilst protecting your data.

Chat, meet, share files and work with business apps together in a shared workspace – all with the Office 365 software you already own.

According to Microsoft, “Teams is built on the Office 365 hyper-scale, enterprise-grade cloud, delivering the advanced security and compliance capabilities our customers expect.”

Teams features two-factor authentication and encrypted data – in transit and at rest – so whether you’re meeting with teams of 10 or 10,000, you can be confident of security.

Microsoft classifies Teams into the Office 365 “D” compliance category, enabling security compliance services by default.

But don’t just take our word for it – check out Microsoft’s overview of security and compliance in Microsoft Teams to see for yourself the information architecture set up to protect your business.
